Yesterday we had our 2nd ever Chop Up Event. Big up to the 26 heads that signed in. Unfortunately, some people couldn’t stand the wait but the ones that hung in there were able to get their free cut in. Marc The Barber did the damn thing. I felt compelled to write a review on Transformers 2 after watching a 10:55pm show last night in Mira Mesa. I realized the more I pick apart the movie the more flaws I see that outweighs the good. If you are expecting an easy to follow story line, somewhat realistic action scenes and a movie that doesn’t drag on till the end, then do what Shia and Megan are doing and RUN!

Ok I’m joking but I’m not joking. Haha. Where to begin? First off this movie was way too long. You figured sure ok I’m paying $10-12 for a 2.5 hr movie so I am going to get more bang for the buck, right? Not necessarily the case. The last action scene in Egypt was annoyingly long and uneventful. Was it really necessary to write in the parents. They should have just left them back in the college scenes. Speaking of college, was that suppose to be at Princeton??? Didn’t know they were a party school with hot models lurking around in every corner. I know it’s a movie but cmon. Megan Fox was hot as usual but all it did was win me back from her horrible MTV Movie award appearance. Also who was the racist screenwriter who decided that two slang talking robots were gonna be a good look? I will also admit I did fall asleep in the middle of the movie trying to follow the hard to follow story. Can anyone really distinguish between the autobots and the deceptacons during the fast camera moving fight scenes? The special effects were kind of cool but you get too lost in it. Overall I saw more bad with the good, but if you are a fan than you will enjoy this one but will leave feeling that the first installment was a lot better than the sequel. In the end, Michael Bay will remain as one of the best action movie directors, Hasbro will make a shitload of toy sales and DVD sales should do well. So financially from a business standpoint everyone will come out caking out on top. Do you think I am being too analytical? Yea probably but it wasn’t like I was expecting a masterpiece from a Summer blockbuster right? Dark Knight will still remain as the only movie to live up to its hype. Don’t even get me started with Watchmen either. C+.
